Help change the life of an abused and neglected child. Contributions to Dallas CASA support CASA volunteers in their efforts to guide abused children through the overburdened legal system to safe, permanent homes where they can thrive. Your tax deductible gift can help turn a life of hurt into one of hope. To make a donation, click below, or call 214-827-9603 ext 243.
You can contribute to help Dallas CASA children in many ways. Information describing various giving options follows.
With a gift of cash to either the operating or the unrestricted endowment fund, you may be entitled to full tax benefit as an itemized deduction. Call the development office with your credit card information (214-827-9603 ext 243) or send a check, payable to "Dallas CASA" to the following address:
Dallas CASA Development Office
2815 Gaston Avenue
Dallas , TX 75226
Do you have appreciated stocks in a brokerage account or in certificate form? A gift of publicly-traded stock will provide support for Dallas CASA children at the full market value and with no capital gains tax paid by the donor. Donors may be able to take a charitable deduction on their federal income tax return for the market value of the securities at the time of stock transfer without recognition of capital gains. If you would like specific information about transferring securities, please call (214) 827-9603 ext 243 or 226 or e-mail Martha Caywood at mcaywood@dallascasa.org
Inclusion of retirement plans may subject an estate to additional federal and state income and estate taxes. Designating a percentage of assets from the plan to Dallas CASA may minimize the taxes due on retirement plan assets.
A charitable remainder trust can be established with cash, appreciated securities, real estate or other marketable assets . A charitable remainder trust may provide income until your death (or the death of a beneficiary), or for a specified term of years. When the trust terminates, the principal becomes available to Dallas CASA.
Real estate is an ideal asset for many methods of charitable giving. Depending on the giving method, your gift helps benefit Dallas CASA at the same time that you may benefit from income tax savings, capital gains tax savings, or estate and gift tax savings.
You can name Dallas CASA the beneficiary (or co-beneficiary) on an existing life insurance policy. In the event of your death, Dallas CASA receives the proceeds of the policy as a bequest, which may generate federal estate tax benefits. If you also make Dallas CASA owner of the paid-up policy and relinquish all incidents of ownership, you may be able to claim an income tax deduction for the cash surrender value.
You are encouraged to consult your tax advisor and/or your attorney before making your gift.
Dallas CASA is unable to provide investment or tax advice.
