We hope to hear from you on tomorrow for North Texas Giving Day but until then please keep following along as we tell you about Adrian and Anna and their CASA volunteer Moira.
Now living in foster care, Adrian and Anna were assigned a CASA volunteer Moira to advocate for their best interests. From the start, Moira noted the children’s sweet smiles, their love of life and their resilience. She advocated for speech and occupational therapies. She visited the children in their foster home monthly making sure they were well cared for medically, physically and emotionally. As caseworkers, therapists and attorneys changed, Moira stayed on the case giving the children one consistent, caring adult to rely on during a frightening time of uncertainty.
With love and attention, the children blossomed in their foster home. But their parents’ rights had been terminated and now the children needed a permanent place to call home. Moira told the courts the children needed a forever family.
Check the blog tomorrow to find out what the future holds for Adrian and Anna.
