Dallas CASA celebrated its 40th year anniversary with a virtual event on Sunday, November 15, 2020. Established in Dallas in 1980 by the National Council of Jewish Women, Dallas CASA has grown to serving nearly every child living in the protective care of the state who needs a CASA volunteer advocate.

The event honored Dallas CASA Classic golf tournament hosts, Goldman Sachs, Pioneer Natural Resources and AT&T, with the Judge Barefoot Sanders Champion of Children Award. The award is given to recognize community leaders who significantly improve the lives of children, particularly those whose young lives have been marked by abuse, neglect or other adversity. The annual golf tournament has been critical to Dallas CASA’s exponential growth, raising more than $20.6 million since 1998 and contributing significantly to our capacity to advocate for more abused and neglected children.

The evening’s celebration featured renowned magician Justin Flom, of the SyFy show, Wizard Wars, as well as many appearances on daytime and late night TV shows. Justin Flom has toured with Florida Georgia Line and created magic for stars such as John Legend and Nick Jonas. Justin was named “Up and Coming Entertainer of the Year” by Las Vegas Weekly. He most recently performed at the annual Dallas Mavericks Foundation 2020 Mavs Ball and received rave reviews.

The Dallas CASA 40th Anniversary celebration raised critical funds to help Dallas CASA continue to recruit and train volunteer advocates who help child victims of abuse and neglect have safe, permanent and loving homes.
